Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a 3000+ year old medicine that improves the function of the body through the insertion of needles on specified points. The treatment improves immune function, increases circulation, reduces inflammation, alleviates pain, increases nervous system function and decreases stress and anxiety. Acupuncture manages the symptoms of acute and chronic conditions as well as preventative care including, but not limited to pain management, gynecological conditions, autoimmune conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, headaches, migraines, depression, anxiety, stress, hypertension, arthritis, insomnia, respiratory conditions, genito-urinary conditions, dermatological conditions, fatigue, neurological disorders and much more.

Acupuncture is painless, relaxing and rejuvenating. Single-use sterilized filiform needles are used (which are as thin as a strand of hair!)

Pediatric Acupuncture Children heal faster than adults due to their abundant resources, making them quick to respond to treatments. This makes acupuncture especially effective when started early, promoting balance and preventing future chronic conditions. With optimal health, kids experience less stress—and so do Mom and Dad!

Many children fear needles, but Acupuncturists offer non-needle options like laser therapy, acupressure, moxibustion, cupping, guasha, tuina massage, and auricular acupuncture.

Cupping is a therapy used to increase blood flow, alleviate pain and massage the soft tissue by heating the inside of a glass cup and placing on the skin. A vacuum is created that draws soft tissue into the cup. Cupping can manage the symptoms of many conditions including but not limited to joint and muscle pain, muscle tension, asthma, COPD, bronchitis, allergies, and the common cold.

Guasha is a technique involving gently scraping the skin with a massage tool to improve circulation, activate the immune system, reduce inflammation and alleviate pain. Guasha is used for chronic pain, inflammation, headaches, migraines, immune defense, and common cold and allergy related symptoms.

Moxibustion (Moxa) is a therapeutic herb called mugwort (artemisia vulgaris) that is burned near the skin’s surface to warm the area, decrease pain, improve circulation and dispel stagnation in the body. Moxa heats to the level of infrared wavelength which provides healing at a cellular level.

Tuina Massage is a type of bodywork where the practitioner applies pressure and massage techniques along specific points and areas on the body. The therapy aids in removing blockages, alleviating pain and promoting relaxation.

Laser Therapy is a non-needle technique used to stimulate acupuncture points and meridians similar to the effects of acupuncture needles. The treatment is painless and a great alternative for sensitive patients and children.

Electroacupuncture is acupuncture with electrical current applied to the acupuncture needles for a continuous stimulation of the points. The treatment is similar to a TENS unit but able to create a more profound shift in the body. The treatment is safe, gentle and effective in treating pain, neuropathy, neurological conditions and much more.

Auricular Acupuncture treats the body’s dysfunctions through the stimulation of points on the ear and can manage the symptoms of a wide variety of conditions including addiction, weight loss, depression, anxiety, stress, motion sickness, insomnia, focus and much more. Points can be stimulated with acupuncture needles, or non-needle magnets (Ear Seeds). Auricular acupuncture is a great alternative for children and sensitive patients.

Acupoint Injection Therapy is the injection of vitamins, homeopathic medicinals or herbal medicinals into Acupuncture points for health, wellness, immune function and pain relief. Options include, Vitamin B12, Vitamin B Complex, Immune Boost Blend, Biotin, Vitamin C, Pain Relief Blend or Beauty Injections.

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, also known as Cosmetic Acupuncture, is a safe and gentle, centuries-old method for improving skin health. It enhances micro-circulation and tones facial muscles, promoting a radiant appearance without the risks of surgery or injections. This treatment not only improves skin but also nourishes the entire body. By delivering nutrients to skin cells, it stimulates collagen and elastin production. Targeted acupuncture points, along with Guasha and Cupping, naturally lift facial muscles. Additionally, Celluma Red Light Therapy is included to penetrate the skin’s dermal layer, further boosting collagen and elastin for faster, longer-lasting results.

Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a non-invasive alternative to cosmetic procedures. Using a micropen, it stimulates collagen production to treat wrinkles, fine lines, acne, enlarged pores, age spots, dark spots, and even support hair restoration. It also improves skin firmness and boosts serum absorption. Treatments are done once a month for 4–6 months, with results lasting up to 5 years. Celluma Blue Light Therapy is included to reduce redness, kill bacteria, and enhance microneedling results for faster, longer-lasting effects.

Herbal Medicine Chinese Herbal therapy provides balance and wellbeing through herbs that are known for their strong antiviral, antibacterial, analgesic and immunostimulant properties.  Herbal therapy can be applied for acute and chronic conditions as well as preventive care.  Prescriptions are taken in either patented herbal pills, granules, tinctures or a personalized raw herb tea decoction.  All Herbal Prescriptions are GMP certified and tested for quality and safety.  Herbal Medicine can treat many conditions including but not limited to acute and chronic pain, gynecological conditions, autoimmune conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, headaches, migraines, depression, anxiety, stress, hypertension, arthritis, insomnia, respiratory conditions, genito-urinary conditions, dermatological conditions, fatigue, neurological disorders and much more.

Nutritional Therapy is based on the principles of utilizing food to bring balance and harmony to the body to prevent disease. This is done through individualized meal plans based on the patient’s constitution and state of health. Chinese Nutritional Therapy utilizes concepts such as the five tastes- sweet, sour, spicy, bitter, and salty to affect specific organs and channel systems in the body as well as using the food’s energetics of yin and yang. Nutritional therapy also takes into account eating seasonally to bring about homeostasis in the body.

Lifestyle Counseling offers the patient simple yet profoundly effective exercises, meditations, and breathing techniques to continue the acupuncture treatment beyond the treatment room.

Qigong, a mind-body-spirit practice, improves health and wellness through simple yet powerful focused movements, breathing exercises and self-massage. The exercises allow energy to flow freely in the body, aid in removing stagnation and blockages, nourish the organs and tissues and improve circulation. Qi Gong is also known to be effective in reducing blood pressure, calming stress and anxiety and slowing the aging process and chronic illness.

Mindfulness practice and Meditation are great ways to increase awareness and focus, reduce stress and anxiety and cultivate an inner peace. There is no right or wrong way to practice and no required length of time. Your practitioner will work with you to find the right fit or refine your current practice.

“My first appointment with Dr Jen was amazing! She is so kind and really listened to my concerns. The atmosphere is very calming and comforting and I felt wonderful after my treatment. After moving from another state where I had a great acupuncturist, I was thinking I might not find someone as great as she was. Boy was I wrong.... Dr Jen is everything I was hoping for!”

— Sue Y.
